One of the great sins of computer science curriculum is making students think that classes are required to have OOP. Thanks, Java teachers!

I’d go so far as saying it’s a crime to pretend OOP is anything more than a convention for packaging software with zero math basis or truth at all. Key among those crimes is pretending functions and “methods” are wildly different for no reason other than a shibboleth.

I got so much anxiety from other devs making me feel like I didn’t “get” it when I saw that the emperor had no clothes.

Programmers are fascists. They don’t care about actual technical clarity or quality just whether their regime wins. Python programmers actually said I didn’t know computer science when I challenged their “impossible to run Py2 and Py3” like Church-Turing Thesis never existed.
