At least in the US, these are for sight impaired / blind people to help recognize where the edges of corners and streets are

Someone said that in Tokyo but fuck that. At the point where you cross? Sure. In the center of every fucking sidewalk, corner, and cross path, blocking walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, luggage, and any wheels? Tokyo doesn’t love the blind it just hates anyone needing wheels.
