The smell is the best demonstration of how clean Tokyo is and I’m serious that it doesn’t just “not smell bad”, it smells clean and fresh. Even the Tsukiji Fish Market had no smell or smelled like amazing food and it’s warm out. NYC is rats and hot garbage.

The quiet seems normal as you walk around during the day while people are at work as the streets are slightly empty but as the streets fill you are walking through large mobs of people and it’s dead quiet still. Just rustling of clothes and a bit of talking, some car noises.

Tokyo starts to get busy from around 10am all the way to midnight, specially Shinjuku. Yeap, the city is extremely clean and you'll have a hard time finding a trash bin around the city. You're expected to take your trash home with you.

send us more Japan when you have a few mins (I bet you don't though!) Also, if you see a Lawson(or any konbini), try the soba roll - can't really find it somewhere else. That's a good sandwich :-D enjoy your trip!pic.twitter.com/7anfWOVl5V

Some konbinis (convenience stores are open 24/7 (7-eleven etc). Here's some yummy stuff to buy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfLjOIef0Tc … Hope you get to see some quiet places too (Kamakura is one of the closest to Tokyo)
