DJI OSMO Pocket ‘s focus modes are fucking garbage. I’ve lost three videos because you only have continuous focus that tracks motion and single focus that you have to manually set EVERY TIME. It does zero initial focus and just starts at infinity until you tap the screen.
If you go with AFC (continuous) it’s too sensitive and goes in and out of focus wildly so when people walk behind the painting or my brush comes in frame is whips the focus around. Just can’t trust it. AFS works but they decided it starts at infinity and YOU have to remember.
Nobody fucking wants infinity. What they want is the center is chosen then focus on that to start. Another option is turn the screen red and deman I touch the fucker to focus before it records. The current model is garbage. I’m solving it by literally writing “FOCUS” on them.
So while the DJI works it has serious UX issues that make it unreliable which is idiotic because nothing about the camera or functionality is unreliable. It’s just bad UX makes it hard to get right.
