Been sorting how to do video production on the road. Davinci Resolve is awful ay h264 encoding but blazes using Grass Valley HQX. It’s actually quicker to do ffmpeg w/ h264_nvenc for h264 after HQX. I’m getting the Pike Place video up but warning: color and focus suckw.
The actual advice should be: If and only if you can put up with 50% render speed AND you have a color correction card like an x-rite AND you can handle a 20-50% reduction in battery life AND you’re recording a high contrast subject: Then Log color makes sense.

Other terrible advice was to use a 1/50 shutter speed with a 24fps to get that “cinematic” look. To do this you need filters galore of a lot of ranges and pray the light never changes. It’s way more reliable to set shutter speed to auto then add filters to get close to 1/50.
