I'm pretty damn sure that faking your death to get people to buy your works violates about 3 laws: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/ayakamay-death-1538899 … So, why isn't this artist in jail? Ohhhh because artists get to do whatever the fuck they want in the name of "art".

I believe it's illegal to: 1. Fake your own death. 2. Use fraud to make money. 3. Conspire with others to do #1 and #2. If my nerd ass did that shit people would throw in me in prison. There are currently politicians and lawyers being prosecuted for #2 and #3. Not an artist?

Somebody (a victim) has to sue for the fraud. If there is no one suing, then nothing will happen.

Sigggghhh, no that's not true at all. That's only in a civil case. In criminal court the government can just prosecute for the crime especially in conspiracy cases.

So why do you think this should be a public case? If there is clear fraud done for financial gain, there should be a victim.

No, there should not be a clear victim, because faking your death is literally illegal without a victim, just like a whole ton of illegal things. Why are you defending an artist when you wouldn’t defend similar behavior from a banker, politician, or technologist?
