I have an odd question for recovering addicts, that I've asked in the past but never really got much of an answer: I have never done any drugs, alcohol, nothing other than coffee. Do you think there's any value in an essay on what that's like but in an honest no-propaganda way?
Me too, but I think it’s because most of the writing about being sober is preachy, overly positive, and unrealistic.

Unrealistic might be the best reason - I’ve avoided writing advice blogs because well what worked for me, if it did, probably won’t work for anyone else. Call it the experts doubt if you will.

Actually I was thinking it would be definitely not an advice essay at all, and I think that’s the problem since any expression of an alternative experience to drug use is seem as advice, but addicts can talk endlessly and it’s applauded.
