Today’s painting was a test of the OSMO Pocket for recording. It works WAY better than gopros. The gimbal and simpler clamping means I shave 4-8lbs off my gear by not taking clubky clamps and arms. These photos were taken with the OSMO too. Even have ND filters for them!pic.twitter.com/uKoAPmAYta
Side story: I forgot paper towels so couldn’t clean my brush. I just kept 1 brush/value and it was working but then I had to clean the brush. Fuck. Probably one of the reasons he got Hodgkin’s Lymphoma was he would clean his brush in thinner, then bang the shit out of it against the easel legs, then wipe it on his pants. He was probably coated in thinner all day. I however use Water Soluble Oil Paints!
I rinse the brush in one cup of water for the “gunk”, then a second cup for the “rinse”, then bang it on the tripod leg, and at that point there’s so little paint and water in it I could dry it on my shorts and there’s no paint on them. Worked so well I may ditch paper towels.
So next problem is to find a very small but high quality audio recording device for my voice and scene.
