First I had the idea of making ambient sounding music to put people to sleep on my travel painting videos. Well obviously the sleepiest most ambient instrument ever is the Bass VI. That required all new pedals though.

You think you can Shave a Yak? Let me school you on how a pro does it: I've actually been building a whole new Bass VI guitar and new effect pedal configuration for the last three months just so I can record the theme music to a course on painting. A total of 2 min of music.

Then the original pickups I had in this Bass VI needed an upgrade because, honestly, they sounded like weak sauce country twang. Of course that meant I had to order some beasts from Bare Knuckle Pickups, and a new pickguard, and wiring, and then reassemble it.

But then I figured out that the wiring on the neck pickup was backwards so of course I had to order a new switch and then reverse engineering the wiring for that pickup and rewire it correctly. Oh you think that's not Yak Shaved enough? Hold my coffee.

Now of course I'm going to use this new guitar on my painting videos, but well I mean the video quality is really tough to do because gopros and many other cameras can't work close up and/or are too big. So I just had to buy a DJI Osmo Pocket. Oh but wait.

The OSMO Pocket is good but it's an 80mm lens with a 16:9 aspect ratio so it can't get enough of the onscreen palette to really show people how I mix colors so, clearly the only solution is to get another OSMO pocket for the palette. You think I'm done?! HA!

Remember those new pedals? Well shit those are a lot of cables and I've already got this overkill sound system with an RME rackmount that can take a whopping 128 channels over MADI, so hey why not go get an RME MADI interface so I can record and route *every damn cable*?

Well shit, now I have the music and I have the cameras, and I have the voice over capabilities and the editing, and I'm ready to go right? Aw dammit, nope need the wifi modules for the two osmo pockets, and the tripod mounts, and a tripod dual mounting plate, and a new light.

Great now I can record, make awesome music, got the sweetest setup yet, ready yet? HAhahahahahga nope. Now I need a new microphone so I can record the audio while I paint in higher quality than the pocket's audio, oh but that needs a new recorder too.
