One counter thought to this thread: It's disingenuous to assert that women are no different from men cognitively (true), and then also think that men are more prone to violence, sociopathy, narcissism, arrogance, and other negative traits. Not different means not different.https://twitter.com/zedshaw/status/1115649110701375489 …

Is it? One is about the structure and function of the brain and the other is largely about socialization.

Almost the exact same socialization argument was used to justify saying woman are always bad at spatial cognition. Read it. Also, there are tons of people who believe that hormones and genetics--not just socialization--cause negative personality traits in men.

The core difference for me is that in the case of women these arguments are used to justify denying women opportunity whereas with men those arguments are usually an appeal for men to take greater responsibility. So I don’t find it inconsistent or hypocritical.

You should read up on how people use "alpha" and "beta" to deny men opportunities in relationships, dating, marriage, jobs, promotions, social standing, wealth, and a ton of other things. Not to mention the belief that men can't be caretakers because they're violent.

Please do not assume that I haven't because I disagree with you. The difference here is that those voices are fringe whereas the ones that directed toward women are mainstream. One can find nearly every variation of crazy if one stares into the internet long enough.

So, the entire prison system and legal system is "fringe"? And please don't get angry and assume I'm your enemy because I disagree with you. Assuming that someone is your enemy because they have a slightly different viewpoint is the central aspect of fascism.
