I grew up in Toronto and this is totally believable. "They" cover certain things like equipment (and even then, not necessarily fully) and of course doctor's visits (not drugs unless they are received in hospital). But there are LOTS of holes in the system.

Yes and no. They cover healthcare, but not the time/cost of taking your kid to the hospital every day. I think she’s missing on some things she could be covered for, plus she still owns her house, so she didn’t lose it all. At that point she’d get welfare. shit luck is what it is
