So someone was able to: 0. Find an unpublished book NOT in the PragProg house. 1. Impersonate PragProg the publisher. 2. Register an ISBN. 3. Register the book for pre-orders. 4. Divert the sales to their own bank. Or, something else?
Not unpublished. But counterfeit published printed books
As PragProg? This is not even a counterfeit. It's just someone taking pre-orders and saying they're A/W.
Amazon doesn’t seem to care about counterfeit goods.
@nostarch has recently ran into similar stuff. Not sure it involved any as of yet unpublished books though. That seems like a new twist.
