Doing a test of black and white pastel using the box and a white onion. Turns out it’s difficult to do Pastel because the pressure needed to apply the pastel is enough to move the box around.pic.twitter.com/nDvAsNsPNT

Before you explained it I thought it was a fat lion fish. Head on the right. I like it both ways tho
I saw: an over-inflated sea lion, a coconut, and finally an onion. It really put a grin on my face
Interesting. Do this: 1. make it full size on your monitor, so it's around 8" wide or 10", near that. 2. Start up fairly close so you can see all the marks. 3. Then slowly walk backwards looking at it (don't trip) until it "snaps" into place looking the most realistic.
Pastels have this bizarre quality where there's this sweet spot distance where all the pastel particles kind of snap together and blend to give it a realistic and shimmery look, then up close you can see how they're drawn and all the marks. It's really cool.
