I think that painting, playing music, and programming are deceptive in that they are conceptually simple, but require intense decades of practice to master and since it takes a lot of practice people *think* they are conceptually deep.
Then do that in the cycle of 4ths. FMaj, BbMaj, EbMaj, and so on. This forces you to constantly take your hand off, and nail it on the chord on a different part of the fretboard and get the grip right. Think about it like jumping and grabbing accurately.
