the worst part might be losing energy of the mind, missing a lot of attention to detail because my mind just doesn't put in the work. I get it pointed out to me or notice it later and it's obvious stuff and I can't figure out how I'd missed it and normally I wouldn't miss it.

Ya know.....I found my attention to details and ability to focus improved when I started painting/drawing what I see. Do you art?

The other option is to just go right to painting and just learn both drawing and painting at the same time. Takes more effort, but I think it is more rewarding: https://www.amazon.com/How-Color-Paint-Arthur-Stern/dp/1626540632 … Combine that with the memory drawing book and you'll learn this very meditative art style.

wow, thanks for all the info. it's something I've wanted to try for a while. I have aphantasia and I've wondered if it's something you can train away and painting/drawing seemed like a good way to test that

Oh cool! I’ve always wanted to see that too. Ok, do the memory drawing book. Just that. Bug me with progress as I’m really curious too. I’ll give you pointers on it too. It’s my favorite way to draw and practice and helped the most.
