So, if I had a wishlist of perfect recording device: 1. GoPro size or smaller. 2. 6+ hours of battery. 3. No fisheye, just a straight 35mm or 50mm. 4. 4k but I only want up to 24fps, or even 2.5k at 30fps. 5. No SD card, just pack it with ram and usb-c pull videos.

I've contemplated trying to use my phone, but all the video I get off the phone just sucks. Wrong aspect ratio, low quality, and can't really record for extended periods of time. If you have suggestions on an alternative camera let me know. I want a small tank with 6hr battery

If all you do is speed them up in the end, you could consider time-lapsing with a dslr or mirrorless if you have one laying around. If you want a new toy: something like the sony hdr-as50 ?https://youtu.be/bfLP5hc5Dlc

Well light weight is the key here and I use a full video. I have a Sony RX1Rii that can do that, but a gopro is even smaller. One HUGE issue with using a DSLR is the battery. I get maybe 30min max filming on the RX1Rii without an external battery. Plus the mount is heavier.
