I felt unsatisfied with that, and I'm *trying* to do one tiny little 6x8 painting a day on these super cheap little carboard panels I bought. Each one is like $0.50 so I bought a box of 360 of them and I use this dinky tiny light as hell easel making this very simple.

So last night, right before sunset I went to paint this one street corner I love. I may just do a series of paintings of just this one corner. It literally has all the lighting conditions in one spot during the day.https://twitter.com/zedshaw/status/1093671430892466177 …

A woman came up while I was painting and said she really loved it. I really don't plan on keeping these as they're just little practice painting, and they're on cheap cardboard (more on that), so I offered to give it to her. She was so happy it was like I offered her $100.

This morning I get up and I made sure my kit was tight. Batteries charged. Film gear ready. Paint ready. Brushes clean. Panels ready. I set out and walked to the beach. Stopped to get a coffee and they're like, "You can get a free tasty ham/bacon/cheese pastry too!"

Free pastry?! Hell yes. And that damn thing was good. I walk to the beach, sun is shining, listening to Bebop, gear is light, and I get to the beach walk on the sand and what do I find? $2 USD laying right there in the sand. I walk a few more feet. $15 more. Hot damn!pic.twitter.com/hQQDi9xojf

So finish the pastry and Colada (that's a bad ass Cuban espresso with tons of sugar) and walk to where I want to paint. Everything sets up easy. No missing stuff, no spills, nothing. I do the drawing, totally works. I get the painting done in like 30 minutes and film it.pic.twitter.com/ztnsThjhTO

The whole time I'm painting people admire it, then a couple walks by, says they like it, then come back and ask if I'll sell it to them. I'm like, "You can have it if you want it. I found $17 on the beach walking over here so someone paid for you!" They love it. I sign it. Yay.

As I'm packing up, this girl walks up and asks me if I just sold that painting. I tell her no I just gave it away since it was a little practice painting. She's 17 and in high school and asks me if I think it's possible to have a career in art. So I take the next 30 minutes:

"Yes, but you have to learn to draw if you want to have more options to use art for professional purposes. The people who can draw are the ones who can work as artists, designers, illustrators, anything. When you get to college, join the illustration dept."

Then I point her at about 6 artists to follow on instagram and 3 schools where she can learn to draw and tell her to also get a good camera and learn photography well because a lot of art involves photos. I have saved the world from another "conceptual" artist my friends.

And then I packed up and went home to code and play guitar. Apparently, it is true that you'll have good luck if a bird SHITS RIGHT ON YOUR FUCKING HAND LIKE AN ASSHOLE. /endpic.twitter.com/ZsTVg0ECCn
