We’ve discussed our research using AI to detect diabetic eye disease as well as cardiovascular risk factors from retinal scans. This week we shared how we’re continuing to use deep learning to help detect anemia from those same scans.

The *easiest* way to learn Deep Learning is to build it from scratch! IMO, the same is true when learning a Deep Learning framework. In I show how to build a -like framework Here's the step-by-step code!!

Brains are amazing. Our lab demonstrates that single human layer 2/3 neurons can compute the XOR operation. Never seen before in any neuron in any other species. Out now in . Congrats Albert, Tim  & CO

Congrats to Google, but let’s not forgot the team from NYU who last year published better results, validated on more cases, tested on more readers, and made their code and data available. They just don’t have the PR machine to raise awareness.

A hypothesis: Brain models world to reproduce. First, they learn to adjust image contrast, then object tracking, 3d vision understanding, and reasoning. Finally, they grasp the concept of self. The discovery of self is the same as the emergence of consciousness.
