Eh. There are a long list of people who made great contributions to the world and couldn't function very well in society at all. In fact, society's disapproval is more often than not a measure of greatness in itself.
Don’t try to save the world if you can’t even pay your bills. Focus on the foundational things, first.

Exactly! Self-interest is not the same thing as being selfish. Being selfish is having a lot of gold and hoarding it like Scrooge McDuck. doing what's in your self-interest is saving money and not having kids until you can pay your bills.
