More, from @michaelkruse: "the summer house … with rustic wood sides, a silver-colored tin roof, four bedrooms and 500 feet of waterfront that Bernie and Jane Sanders bought for $575,000, cash, through an entity they created called the Islands Trust."https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/05/24/bernie-sanders-millionaires-226982 …

That isn’t that expensive.

Lol it’s 3x the national average, and it’s just his vacation house... meanwhile millennials are working 25% more than any generation and still can’t afford to buy their first house.

the issue for me is bernie doesn't simply talk about improving society. he seems to just hate rich people. that's an uncomfortable place to be now that he is one, and you can tell. look how rattled he got at the mere mention of the fact that he's not some shmuck proletariat

Did he say something like "most people in Vermont have a summer home?" Who the F*** are these people living in Vermont?

Me. My father bought a camp on a beautiful lake in the 50’s for very little money (using a devious financing scheme called a “mortgage”). Now my large family share it. It is not very common, but it’s not a sign of great wealth either.

Hilarious. All these Bernie trolls saying a half million plus on a second house isn’t that much. Most workers can’t afford half that for their only house.

Senators make $174,000 a year. Bernie's been a senator a long time. Only an idiot wouldn't amass a little wealth. All senators maintain a home in DC and in their home districts. His wife inherited a house and they bought the lake house. There's no vow of poverty
