I think it was Donald Boudreaux that said something like "Don't judge a policy on its goals, it's easy to state good goals. Judge a policy on the incentives it gives the people it affects." Unintended consequences are real.
Seems to me like a lot of political problems on both sides comes down to people being unable to distinguish ‘what I think should happen’ from ‘what actually is likely to happen.’https://twitter.com/ap/status/996169076627079174 …
