I think they get the description about ( “...via targeted ads”) I’m not sure there is anything particularly “creepy” going on — it’s hardly a secret how this works. They give you a valuable free services, you endure targeted ads.

They don’t sell information. They sell ads. The advertisers don’t know who you are, any personally identifying information, or anything about you.

Have you heard any better ways to communicate this? Agree that most people don’t understand “sell your data” means advertising. But most people also don’t understand that your data is being monetized and what the implications of that are. Wondering what the proper phrase is..
