1/ I love that modern gadgets are so intuitive that they don't require -- or even include -- operating manuals.

2/ The negative side of this is that it's much harder to become a power user because there's no hint of what features/actions are available.

3/ E.g. to take a screenshot on Android you have to press & hold the Volume Down & Power buttons simultaneously. How does one discover that?

4/ I've been using Android for 5+ yrs & *just* found out that I can swipe up on the home screen to see all of my apps. Accidental discovery.

5/ The "make it super intuitive" design trend makes it hard for casual users to become power users. It's a shame. I hope the trend reverses.

Mainstream devices built at scale have to be usable by normal people. I think this continues until brain-to-computer interface.

I kind of agree, but I think better tips or command discovery could live alongside easy onboarding.
