My read is that this applies to technology vendors (EDI, BI, etc), not to physical product suppliers.

Servers, storage - not a huge deal. The problem comes in duplicating AWS Lambda, SQS, Aurora, etc.
Sounds like it is less motivated by 'hurting a competitor' and more motivated by fear of spying. Which is even crazier.

AWS has no incentive to spy as any evidence would trigger lawsuits and some client churn. Seems like pure paranoia from being #2
