Netflix's problem is that they refuse to display movies in order of best to worst. Flawed hypothesis: people want to watch similar movies.

I loved Shawshank redemption. That doesn't mean I want to watch prison movies. It means I want to watch good movies.

Netflix methodology applies better to (fiction) books. Books are more subjective, wider variation in rating. Movies have more consensus.

What I meant: it's a flawed hypothesis that people want to watch movies that are similar in theme to movies they've rated highly.
