As a starting point, I’ve thought about a site that just overlays a few NYT articles each day with Genius-like highlights of subtly biased language. No commentary, just drawing attention to unnecessarily slanted language.
One a day would be a good start. Could be nothing more than a Twitter handle that links to an article pasted into Genius or a google doc

What would you use to identify slanted vs neutral language? Is there a sentiment analysis library or API? Grammarly seems to do a good job - did they build their sentiment analysis? Found these data sets: https://www.cs.uic.edu/~liub/FBS/sentiment-analysis.html …
If someone hasn't done it already it would be cool to be able to do this to one article, give it a score, and then grade authors on their cumulative work. Some authors can build credibility for neutral journalism and maybe you could identify bad authors or publishers.
Key challenge/secret sauce would be finding a way to prevent the community of editors from being hijacked by politically motivated bad actors.
You should also overlay alternative choices for stories that matter - the bias inherent in that editorial selection is even more alarming
