You can absolutely build an enormous business with an incredible team without raising venture capital. You’re just taking an already-unlikely outcome and stacking the odds even more extraordinarily against yourself.

It's certainly true you need venture capital to build the next Uber, Airbnb etc. The point is whether you really want to build the next big thing or you can be somewhat happy with a much smaller one
