It’s like the old EMH joke: A PhD student is traveling to class with their economics professor. “Hey look, an open seat!” exclaims the student. “Nonsense,” says the teacher, without so much as a look. “If there were, someone would have taken it by now.”
Or, the VC version: "Hey look, an open seat," says the associate. "That seat has been open for weeks," says the partner. "There must be something wrong with it."
