Completely agree wth you there. But the PE model focused on turning around the company (largely from an operational standpoint - cutting costs, layoffs and such) still deserves a discussion. Wouldn’t you say?

No. Sometimes owners need liquidity, sometimes companies need turning around. If neither needs existed, private equity wouldn’t exist.

Disagree. Private equity cos own a huge chunk of the American economy and as such their employees have seen how they operate (good and bad). A lot more people know what it is than you're giving credit for.

What do you mean by local newspapers? I don't know 1st hand but was told some time ago by someone doing quite well after starting a local Korean language paper that "local" newspapers were doing fine. That nation print was not, but people like to read about their community.
