I've come to realize that a lot of people are using "monopoly" to mean "very large company, lacking equally large competition." It doesn't really matter whether there's a healthy ecosystem of smaller competitors, or whether their advantage is based on product quality.

It is all projection. One can understand this when you realize this is how the East Coast makes money.
