That’s an odd take. The primary difference between consumer and enterprise software is the time window in which the software helps users. Some engineers are excited about helping people outside of work hours; some during work hours.

The last generation of B2B software startups is typified by a large professional services organization tasked with making up for the deficiencies of legacy software that was scaled too quickly without paying down debt - consulting companies built on top of mediocre software.

There are exceptions. But in any case, infrastructure and tooling is finally in a place where quality B2B companies can be built more broadly. And that's exciting.

I don't like the distinction of b2b vs b2c. Order of magnitude of customers, and types of loops in the company are far more predictive of similarities and differences between companies. And the lines are blurring very much
