In other words, it might not be that we haven’t achieved anything since the Apollo missions; it’s that we haven’t achieved anything *because of* the Apollo missions.
Many have argued for over a half a century that the manned space program offered little incremental scientific value at a massive cost. The primary value was Cold War propaganda.
