Could you expand a bit on your point? There weren’t many PhDs in ANY field in 1960, especially a nascent one like aeronautical engineering (esp supersonic flight). It was mainly white socks, roll up your sleeves, pocket protector types. Oh and no computers.
Having attended any college for any degree was meaningful in 1950 and meaningless today.
