I know that sounds a little like "this time is different," but it genuinely feels like the amount of A+ content available to founders (& investors) is much higher than 10-20 years ago; it's easier to find helpful advisors/mentors; way more distribution channels than before; etc.
I think this might be offset by the fact that we’re 10+ years into the low-hanging fruit of ideas in the current paradigm being picked over. The businesses that are being built today seem harder.
In theory, I agree. In practice I feel like I still see tons of pitches for large markets that have very little digitization and/or weak incumbents.
