The speed of Google’s decline as a prestigious/exciting place to work reminds me of the disappearance of disposable cameras in a 24-month period growing up.

Do you have any data to back that up? Or just grumbles from a few employees? The people I know at Google are exceptionally talented and love it there. Still a very hard place to poach talent.

No data. I also know lots of talented people are very happy at Google. What I’m talking about is the outside perception from my conversations with folks in tech.

Again, poaching/retention has nothing to do with this - I’m talking about outside perception, which would affect close rate. Retention is why it’s referred to as a minimum security prison for geniuses.
