Love AWS and am amazed by its pace of innovation, but any attempt to quantify it will run into Goodhart's law. Charts like these are the reason we see announcements for <old feature> now available in <region>.
I see what you're saying, but I think rolling out a feature to a new region is still notable. I'd love to commission a research project to either analyze old blog posts or API changes to categorize & visualize the announcements over time.

Yea, good point. I guess I'm bristling at treating all 'announcements' as equal when some are clearly more equal than others. An announcement in Nov/Dec is probably worth 50X an announcement in April
