      I wonder if Stewart Butterfield is just a pure bigot working to strengthen the white patriarchy or if there’s some hidden side benefit to having the world’s most successful software CEOs as investors in a software startup.

      Because my reading of the initial tweet was not that it was bad or irrational for Slack's founders to mostly let their friends / experienced founders invest, it was that it's a shame that the pool of qualified people is so heavily skewed.

      And at some point if the cycle is going to unwind itself someone with power and money has to intentionally bring in a diverse group of people to the positive feedback loop gravy train that is silicon valley

      A diverse group of investors is good. Having founders of mega-successful startups as investors is good. Having the intersection of both is also good.
