‘Loophole’ is such great branding. Loopholes don’t exist - there are only ‘laws.’ Flawed laws are rebranded as loopholes. Similar to pharma’s invention of ‘side effects.’ There‘s no such thing as a side effect - there are only effects. Bad effects are rebranded as side effects.

Agreed, seems unlikely -- though in a world where everyone can become rich in the present without profit in the present, it does seem misaligned to how government gets its cut. Though, tbh, if corporations are people I'm maybe for taxing them the same way people are taxed?
(fwiw, I’m in favor of a dramatically simpler tax code that taxes on something other than profit)

Yeah, me too. It seems like complexity is your classic deadweight loss. My view is that in all likelihood the total tax base of the federal government is PLENTY (if not more than enough) to pay for what we need -- if better allocated.
