And Biden is saying the gov't policy is wrong in this case. What's wrong with that, shouldn't he have opinions about which gov't policies are right or wrong? That seems an important part of running for office.
What’s wrong with the statement is framing the company as the one at fault, when it should be directed at the policy.

The statement literally blames the policy, not the company. It’s about what “we” (the US public) should do.

I'm not sure that's true. The only way for Amazon to have paid a meaningfully larger amount of taxes is to eliminate carryforward losses, which isn't on the table as a policy change.
