Admittedly no acquihires are good for investors, but some are good for founders; some include quite rich terms.

I’m seeing ones where team is hired, founders move on to the next thing, and announcement gives the impression that it was a normal/great exit, and hundreds of friends/family respond with congratulations thinking the founders got rich. Outcome is fine, misconception seems tough.

It's better then a zero. And they are actually hard to pull off. Hats of to the founders who can pull it off

Not judging the outcome at all - soft landing is a win. The hard part is when announcements sound like triumphant exits and hundreds of family/friends respond on social media thinking the founders got rich, when in reality it’s a landing for team only and founders are moving on.

There was a time that if your changed your LinkedIn profile to "Looking for new position" your connections would be prompted to congratulate you.

It is odd how over the last social media phase, the acquisition email has morphed from being a melancholy and sad announcement, to a celebratory, verbal selfie email announcement.
