(Ps. 2,300 rides, 4.96 star rating. Car was wrapped in a sponsored advertisement. Happiest person I’ve talked to in as long as I can remember - felt like I had just met Buddha)

I still haven't heard a driver that added the car's expenses into the cost of working for Uber/Lyft. One time, about half the fare was tolls, and he didn't seem to make the connection in addition to the gas. Maybe he made it up in tips?

This might verify people's misconception that as long as there is cash flow, there is a profit. A lot of people think this when they look at a business, but they don't seem to consider the bottom line.

Similar sentiment while talking to most of my Uber drivers as well. However, as a hip hop head, I gotta nerd out for a bit on his take of 50’s philosophy. Kanye also got this wrong in “Good Life”.

50 may have adapted this as one of his philosophies on life, but according to Fif (per “In Da Club”), it was actually Lloyd Banks who told him this gem.

Alternative response I've heard many times: I retired and I was bored. I decided, why not drive for Uber?

Same experience, most of my Uber drivers like work/felixibility it allows. Very few actually complain.
