Number of jobs doesn't directly translate into people working those jobs. There are a _ton_ of other contributing factors. The fact of the matter is that by any objective standard Amazon mistreat its employees.

I think we have different definitions of the words “fact” and “objective.”

The people who deliver prime packages are all IC's working for Amazon flex or more likely third party delivery companies like ontrac or dynamex. Are you thinking about them in reference to the millions or the actual factory workers who I believe are Amazon employees?

It sounds good to tell your family you work for Amazon. Prestige is an incredible driver of behavior. The ability to grant status to someone is valuable for Amazon and is the reason they can “mistreat” employees.
-
I'd say the opposite - since outlets have given Amazon such a bad reputation, working there makes it assumed that you are mistreated.

Have a look at the employment to population ratio instead. It's better than it was before, but looking at it shows that unemployment rate is not complete indicator of economic strength.

Agree. If you're writing articles which shit on a particular job, you really should have some experience in working in said job and also the next best option. From experience, working in a distribution centre is much nicer than many other low skilled jobs out there.

Asymmetric information, moderate levels of underemployment/lack of sufficiently-paying alternatives, high-quality service to end users lends perception of high-quality treatment of workers to job seekers, etc.
