So since we seem to agree that paying drivers a 'livable wage' would cause the company to bankrupt, are you suggesting that drivers be given equity? Or am I misunderstanding something?
If Uber/Lyft are breaking laws by having drivers as contractors, should definitely be fixed. If you're suggesting Uber voluntarily pay its (contractor) drivers minimum wage equiv, that would cause certain bankruptcy - so I'm having a hard time understanding how that's reasonable.

There is an alternative that could lock in both Uber's competitive advantage AND raise driver wages: Uber advocates for intense regulation. Laws could mandate higher fares, restrict market entry, etc. Basically, recreate the old taxi regulatory structure but applied to Uber.
