Not universally true where the product utility is a binary “have it or don’t” material shift in a customer’s life. Definitely true for products that do the same thing slightly better.
Seems that blitzscaling is the fastest way to deliver existing value to many more customers, with the tradeoff that the rate of increase in value delivered per customer often levels off meaningfully (setting aside the increase in value delivered as a result of network effects).
