Said differently... *if you come up with a great strategy, don’t allow Michael Lewis to write a book about it/shout it from the rooftops and it probably would have worked well for longer*
I don't follow baseball, but I believe the Red Sox had implemented his strategy before 'Moneyball' came out.

Yep - Epstein was hired by the Red Sox right before Moneyball came out.
