FWIW, I think the most interesting questions are: 1) how in the world did NetSuite succeed? (Partly ‘right place at right time’ - transition to cloud made an opening), and 2) is there a similar paradigm shift happening now? (Maybe)

NetSuite’s fundraising was pretty unusual. $125M from Larry Ellison, who owned 47%. I suspect they got some product help from Oracle, too, but not sure.pic.twitter.com/YxmRC2XoM4
