Sometimes you meet people who are ridiculously well paid to do something that seems easy. That’s until you try to do that thing yourself — then you realize these people are like artists, and they’re so well paid *because* they make it seem so easy.
Someone wrote about this paradox with regard to locksmiths. If an inexperienced locksmith takes 2 hours to get in, you’re happy to pay $200. But if a master smith gets in in 2 minutes, you feel ripped off. The better they are at their jobs, the less they are appreciated.
