Are all format prices set by publisher? Regardless, just because the publisher “chooses” this price doesn’t mean it’s their choice. It’s the equilibrium set by a massive imbalance in bargaining power.

I’m also not saying btw that this is the “wrong” price. But the right price arrived at for the wrong reasons is still structurally bad. Amazon can always threaten anything w impunity. (It’s rise btw led to the consolidation of publisher gatekeepers btw, hurting authors most.)
