Unless you’re going to a top school, credentials don’t mean much and you can learn more by reading a handful of good books.
I think that viewpoint is overplayed and a bit outdated. MBA curriculums have evolved - I would estimate that a quarter of the material that we covered would have been helpful had I decided to do another startup. (granted, that was at a top school)
Would be interested to see data on success of startup founders from non-top-tier MBA programs.
Don't get me wrong, I think that an MBA from a non-top-tier program is often a waste of money (unless your job requires you to check a box). But I don't think that's unique to the MBA->founder route, I think it's generally true.
