All this discussion around “too much money” and “whether and when should you raise more or less” tend to boil down to financial discipline. Former is used as a proxy for latter and it is stunning how people get religious about the former framing.
I’ve found that almost all startup advice is just a simple proxy for something that’s harder to explain. Helps avoid stupid mistakes. Finding the exceptions is one way to get better returns than average (which, of course, is zero).

Yeah and every single piece of prescriptive advice has tons of counter examples and countering/conflicting prescriptive advice from just as credible people. So many debates reflect this. Few ex : MVP vs finished product, funding cadence, having co-founders, being public etc
